Contemporary jewellery inspired by Mexican Mayan architecture and design

The Mexicali collection is inspired by Mayan architecture and my travel memories of Mexico

The Mexicali range is influenced by the architecture and motifs used in ancient Mayan architecture, and more broadly the architectural movement of Mayan Revival Architecture (part of the Art Deco movement), popularised in the America’s by such legendary architects as Frank Lloyd Wright and Robert Stacy-Judd, during the 1920’s and 30’s. The most notable buildings of this movement are Hollyhock House, and Ennis House in Los Angeles, and a personal favourite, the Aztec Hotel by Stacy-Judd in California.

Pops of rich colour can be seen in this range, reminiscent of the beautiful Bougainvillea trees that I saw around every corner in Mexico.
